Why Exhibit?

Bringing You The Next Healthcare and Medical Revolution
Organized by leading international trade fair organizer for the Southeast Asian region, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND returns to Bangkok for its 7th edition bigger and more influential. Continuing its exponential growth path as the landmark event for global brand names and up-and-coming companies to showcase their latest products and services, MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND is the most-established platform for the regional medical and health care community to discover latest emerging trends and technologies.
Asia’s Robust Market Prospects
The growing healthcare industry has become a major sector within the Asian region primarily owing to the increasing awareness of quality healthcare, the rising trend in medical tourism, rapidly ageing populations, higher life expectancy and economic development.
  • The healthcare market in the Asia Pacific is expected to reach US$752 billion in 2018
  • There are 2.3 billion people aged 65 or older in 2013, and is expected to increase further from 9.8% in 2013 to 11% in 2018. The greying market in Asia is expected to drive increased demand for quality healthcare products and services.

Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia is, potentially, at the beginning of a health care tipping point. The outlook for Southeast Asia’s health care sector continues to be positive, with relative growth for established players as they continue to dominate and enjoy a steady revenue stream that allows them to look into non-traditional, innovative health care business models, services, and geographic expansion.
AEC 2015
The Future of Healthcare in Southeast Asia
As part of the vision for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) set for 2015, healthcare has been identified as a priority sector for accelerated economic integration toward a single ASEAN market, with the road map covering covers 5 industries including: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, medical devices, traditional medicines and health supplements.

Spread over 3 engaging days of trade, visitors converged at the Queen Sirikit Convention Center to experience first-hand the latest medical and healthcare products and solutions, discuss key market trends and network with industry peers and professionals, creating a vibrant, business-conducive marketplace at the heart of the nation’s industry-defining event for the medical and healthcare sector.

MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND drew a successful closing on 14 September 2013 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) with a record breaking 20% growth in visitor attendance since its inaugural staging in 2003. The trade fair featured an extensive showcase from 436 exhibitors across 30 countries, addressing growing medical and healthcare needs in line with robust market interest and growing presence in Southeast Asia.

Preliminary statistics recorded that the 6th edition of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND attracted 6,396 visitors from 57 countries, a 20% increase from the previous edition in 2011. Majority of the overseas visitors came from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. Mrs Apiradee Pratthanadee, who works in the Materials Management Department of Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, “I am very impressed with the wide range of technologies showcased at MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND and in particular the state-of-the-art ambulance exhibited by Dloughy GmbH. I have never seen such a well-equipped ambulance.”

Making up more than 75% of the exhibitor base at the trade exhibition, these companies presented the latest products, services and cost-effective solutions with many conducting live demonstrations and interactive onsite activities. Mr Niqman Rafaee M. Sahar, Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Malaysia commented, “Our pavilion consists of 16 companies and 27 representatives from the healthcare sector, to promote new medical devices and for exploration of healthcare in Thailand. There is a strong growth potential for medical tourism in Thailand and we see a winning collaboration since Malaysia is one of the major exporters of medical devices to Thailand.
