Market Information

China - The world`s fastest growing Clean Energy market

China consumes 10% of the world`s total energy, 70% of its primary energy consumption is coal, which is 40% higher than the world average. The pollution caused by coal burning accounts for 70% to 80% of the total emission amount. Furthermore, the acid rain triggered by it covers 1/3 of the entire area of China. The quality of the environment is continuously deteriorating, according to the World Bank; by the end of 2020 the environmental and health losses caused by air pollution will reach 13% of the total GDP value.

According to the definition in China`s renewable energy law, clean energy refers to non-fossil energy sources, including wind energy, solar energy, hydropower, biomass energy, geothermal energy and ocean energy.

Statistics from the China Electricity Council for the total electricity generation from Clean sources by the end of 2008 amounted to 586.7 terawatt-hours (TWh), including 563.3 TWh from hydropower (both large and small), 12.8 TWh from wind power, and 9.2 TWh from solar PV, geothermal and biomass power combined. In total, electricity from renewables accounted for 17% of national electricity production of 3,433.4 TWh, which represents a two percent increase over 2005.

TILS- TAIWAN INT'L LIGHTING SHOW

Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council as well as the Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association, the sixth Taiwan Int'l Lighting Show will be held at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall from March 25 to March 28, 2015.

The largest lighting show in Taiwan, TILS is celebrated by industry professionals worldwide. In fact, since TILS was first held in 2010, its scale has grown considerably every year. 90% of exhibitors feel attending TILS serves their purposes, and 70% are regular participants. It is evident that TILS has gained recognition and support from the industry. Prominent exhibitors include Everlight, Delta, Epistar, Edison, China Electric, Formosa Epitaxy, AMKO Solara, Taiwan Tang Hua and Nan Ya.
