MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2018 in Mumbai: Positive market prospects are boosting demand for bookings

Working in close cooperation with the Messe Düsseldorf Group and other event partners, Messe Düsseldorf India started the planning phase for the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2018 in Mumbai immediately after the successful MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2017. This year’s three-day event finished in New Delhi on 8 April, having attracted 13,480 trade visitors and 519 exhibitors. Exhibitors’ registrations for the 24th edition of this leading medical tradeshow on the Indian market are now being received in large numbers. The MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2018 will be held at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre from 16 to 18 March next year.

India is one of the world’s most promising markets for medical devices and medical engineering. Health spendings in India currently run to just over $160 billion, and further growth is expected by 2020, when it will reach nearly $300 billion. The medical devices market has been estimated at approximately $8 billion, with an import share of 50%. Interest in health IT is equally buoyant on the Indian market and has been estimated at over $2.5 billion (Deloitte). Companies wanting to benefit from this promising environment and recent developments will find that the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA – the country’s leading national medical trade fair, established in 1990 – is a top platform for accessing the Indian market.

The European stand, which had its première in 2017, was so much in demand that it will be expanded considerably next year. It provides a joint inexpensive exhibition space, managed by Messe Düsseldorf, where companies from European countries can present their products to the Indian market and benefit from a range of services.

One major component of the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2018 in Mumbai will be CLIN LAB INDIA again, after the good reception of its première among visitors and attracting much attention in 2017. The conference, jointly organised by Scherago and Messe Düsseldorf India, will follow the trend in focusing on lab medicine. It will also be accompanied by an exhibition. Moreover, as there has been so much demand for bookings, the exhibition space will be expanded by more than half its former size, reaching over 500 square metres.

Another major point of attraction at the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2018 will be a lounge area and conference session entitled “Future for Health”. Both will focus on digitisation in medicine, mobile applications and medical apps.

For the first time there will also be a hotspot – a space with the emphasis on products connected with rehabilitation and nursing care. India, too, has an ageing population, so that this subject is just as relevant here as it is elsewhere.

Year on year, the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA alternates between two venues: New Delhi and Mumbai. Focal areas include medical devices and engineering, lab technology, equipment and diagnostics, furnishings and equipment for hospitals and health centres as well as mobile health solutions and health IT, two areas which are currently attracting considerable attention throughout the world.

The focal areas of the event are intended for decision-makers in the medical field (e.g. doctors and healthcare professionals) as well as senior management at hospitals. However, they will be equally relevant to architects, building planners, management consultants and those in research and development.

[20170927~20170929] Texcare Asia 2017

Texcare Asia Set to Show Off in Shanghai

The International Trade Fair for Modern Textile Care is coming to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

Better known as Texcare Asia, it will be headlining at the center for three days, Sept. 27-29.

“Over 95% of exhibition space at Texcare Asia is booked to key international and domestic players,” says one of the two show organizers, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

According to Messe Frankfurt, and co-host China Light Industry Machinery Association (CLIMA), the show is drawing a “wave of elevated enthusiasm,” and adds that international industrial associations have recommended the fair to players from around the world.

“Wave” is the right description for the Shanghai event since the city name itself means “upon the sea.” It is a large, cosmopolitan coastal metropolis of 25 million.

During the 2015 edition of the trade show, 153 exhibitors filled almost 183,000 square feet in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Attendance reached a record 10,267 from 54 countries. Organizers say the 2015 show experienced a 20% increase from the 2013 edition, and expect further growth this year.

Attendance this year is expected to reach 11,000, with more than 160 exhibitors showcasing their products and services in more than 215,000 square feet of space.

Local companies from China will be represented, plus businesses from 20 other countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, Japan and more.

By showcasing their product advancements to major Asian buyers, many of these global companies are wanting to capitalize on the fair’s position as Asia’s leading event for innovations in textile care.

Richard Li, general manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), says the textile care and cleaning industry in Asia, and particularly in China, is undergoing major development and transformation.

“While the demands on laundry service in Asia are increasing rapidly, there’s also an emerging need for more personalized and diversified service,” he says. “In recent years, a number of industry players have made significant progress on automation and innovations to cater to these needs, under the backdrop of increased operational expenditure and raised environmental awareness.

“At the same time, the global industry is catering to these growing needs, by exploring the ways in which their advanced technologies can be adopted by the Asian market.”

Numerous dedicated areas will highlight the growth potential of these Asian markets.

Demonstrating the spirit of internationalism of exhibitors at this year’s fair, both Kannegiesser and Miele will be part of the German Area during Texcare Asia. This dedicated section gathers 10 leading players from Germany to demonstrate their role in serving the Asian market, and includes BÖWE, Hohenstein and SEITZ, and more.

Similarly, a dedicated Japanese Area will bring together a group of key Japanese brands, including ASAHI, San-Ai, TOTO, Y.A.C. and Yamamoto. Sankosha, also exhibiting in the Japan Area, is a laundry and drycleaning technology manufacturer that is set to launch more than 10 new types of shirt-pressing equipment during the show, organizers point out.

Sankosha says each of these technologies have been tailored to serve the Chinese market by offering specific shapes and angles in accordance with the country’s buying habits.

In the buildup to this year’s fair, the company has called for an increased focus on more automated and energy-saving shirt-washing technologies for the Chinese textile care sector, it relates.

Additionally, a separate RFID Zone (radio frequency identification) at the show will feature various field experts, including Autovalet, Bundle, Datamars, Etexsys, Finove, Thermopatch and Zucchetti.

The track-and-trace capabilities of RFID technology significantly increase the visibility, accuracy and efficiency at washing workshops, by automatically tracking the status of each garment and preventing items from being lost, show organizers indicate.

In this zone, for instance, technology company Datamars will demonstrate to visitors how the company’s own RFID solutions can help laundry shops save on operational costs and gain efficiency throughout the entire cycle.

“Laundering technology company Kannegiesser, who is a global player in the heavy-duty laundry machinery market, will be showcasing various smart and automated laundry advancements, in a bid to match the growing desire for more technological adoption and improved efficiency in the region,” show organizers say.

Milena Vogt, assistant to director of project engineering for Kannegiesser, says the company appreciates the transformation of the region toward high operational efficiency and energy savings.

“Utilization of automated process technologies and hygiene aspects are of great importance to the professional laundry companies in Asia,” she says. “We appreciate the growing interests in automated laundry solutions in recent years.

“Texcare Asia is one of the most important laundry exhibitions in China, as well as for the entire Asian-Pacific region. As the demand increases in the Asian market, we always participate in the fair to showcase our innovation, and of course, to get in touch with existing customers and to reach out to more business potentials.”

What’s more, fellow German exhibitor Miele, a commercial laundry technology developer, is also hoping to explore the potential of the Asian market at the show. The company has the capabilities to offer operational efficiency and reduced costs, which is another important factor for the domestic market, show management points out.

“Moving to its ninth edition, the fair will continue to be a one-stop sourcing and networking platform for the Asian community,” says Li.

In addition to the trade show, organizers will host Texcare Forum Asia at the same time. This educational experience allows attendees to hear from experts and market leaders from research institutes on a variety of topics of interest.

Texcare Asia is a biennial event and also a sister event of Texcare International, which is held every four years in Germany.

[20170913~20170915] Tap the "Water Tech 2.0" at Aqua Taiwan 2017

Taiwan International Water Show (AQUA TAIWAN)
The revolutionary wave of "water tech 2.0" is driving the global water industry into a new age of heightened standards and upgrades. And the momentum for this change can be traced to the tech and upgrade successes of the Taiwan water industry. Professionals can gain the big picture on the currents and trends in water at the Taiwan International Water Show (AQUA TAIWAN), September 13-15, 2017 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center.
With a combination of IoT and ICT strengths, Taiwan excels in smart water tech with annual exports of pumps, valves, pipes, meters and water purifiers exceeding US$2 billion. In Taiwan, investment in water infrastructure is targeting smart water management and water reclamation, which will be supplying 10% of all water resources by 2030.
By 2025, 80 percent of utilities in the advanced world and 50 percent of city utilities in developing economies will be using smart water systems worth an estimated US$25 billion. The quality and innovation in this tech is tapping the future.
A full lineup of smart technologies is exhibited at AQUA TAIWAN. These include an electronic smart water meter that detects and reports water leakage online (EMS), a smart knob-controlled compact RO system with a touch panel and auto leak detection (LAN SHAN), and a Taiwan Excellence Award-winning residential electronic control pump suitable for boosting pressure from underground (Walrus).
The event promotes the best in household, commercial, and industrial water tech as well as remote servicing, data analytics and recycling. Great prospects are also waiting at the show forums, seminars and business matchmaking events that underscore Taiwan's progress towards a new dimension of smart water technology.
